
Just in case we need to be reminded, most merchant sailors who died during both World Wars have 'no grave but the sea'.
These photos shown four graves of unknown merchant sailors. Each gravestone has incribed on it "A sailor of the 1939-1945 war". There is also the date of each individual interment.
The gravestones may be seen in the churchyard of Lady St Mary at Wareham in Dorset.
